Welcome To St Mawes

 The pretty village of St Mawes sits at the tip of the Roseland Peninsular, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty on the south coast of Cornwall.  The Idle Rocks hotels is perched on the edge of the harbour wall, offering idyllic views out over the water to St Anthony's Head and to Falmouth.

 Two main roads feed into Cornwall, the A38 and the A30.  Whichever road you are using, we recommend that you head for St Austell.  From there,  take the A390 heading towards Truro.  About 2 miles outside of St Austell take a left fork to Tregony, signposted the B3287.  After about 2 miles you will come to a T-junction where you turn right and a few yards further on, take a left turn signposted Tregony.

Head through the village of Tregony, keeping to your left as you leave the village, heading to St Mawes.  St Mawes is just beyond the village of St Just in Roseland.  As you enter the village and near the centre, you will see The Idle Rocks hotel perched on the edge of the harbour wall.

 Not everyone who comes to Cornwall comes by car.  Trains to Truro or Falmouth are regular.  If arriving in Truro by train, we recommend travelling to St Mawes by taxi. If you opt to continue to Falmouth then the best means to reach the hotel is to taxi to the waterfront and catch the foot ferry over to St Mawes.  Newquay airport is the closest airport but as it is on the north side of Cornwall, we recommend you hire a car to get to St Mawes as the taxi fare will be quite prohibitive.
